We will construct an infant day gown from start to finish. This studio will be for all 3 sessions and basic sewing experience is required. If you have a machine, we would recommend bringing it. Your supply fee will purchase a kit from the Smocking Bird that will include the pattern, fabric, trim, buttons, and thread. You will need to bring sharp sewing scissors to cut fabric. Please let us know if you would like pink fabric, blue fabric, or white fabric. This pattern is adaptable to make both simple designs, and more detailed ones as well. Please let us know if you need us to provide a machine.

This workshop will take us beyond where to place the silverware and focus on beautiful elements to make your guests feel welcome at your table.

How to develop your writing style through scripture and every-day inspiration.

Reading through a few pieces of scripture, we’ll find inspiration and re-write the scripture in your own words. Next, we’ll have several simple prompts ranging from humor, nostalgia, family, loss, and more. Lastly, we’ll play with the written word and prayer! This studio will leave you with a fresh, creative way to study the Word, capture and express moments in your every-day life, and bring your praise to the Lord. No formal writing experience is necessary.

Passed down through many generations of families, you can learn one of the oldest and most beautiful trades in this needlepoint studio. You will learn the basics of needlepoint, including the basket-weave stitch, and will leave with a beautiful cross that can be hung in your home.

This studio is a monochromatic study in positive and negative space. The student will paint a botanical, but instead of painting the positive space (the subject matter), they will paint the negative space (everything around the subject matter).

In this studio, we will paint wooden Easter eggs! This can be as simple or complex as you choose! Paint stripes or dots. Or create a beautiful floral design. Elizabeth will have several example eggs that will inspire you on what to paint. You can fill a bowl with your beautiful eggs as the centerpiece for your Easter tablescape.

Maggie O’Connor

Participants will design and create a wreath from a grapevine form using greenery and spring flowers. In this studio we will discuss the symbolic nature of flowers used in the wreath to signify the Lenten season, Holy Week, and celebrate Easter.

In this studio, we will be learning basic cookie decorating skills, including outlining, flooding and wet on wet technique using royal icing. You will go home with 6 cookies that you have decorated and recipes for sugar and gingerbread cookies. This class is designed for Beginners, but all skill levels are welcome.

In this studio, we will be learning basic piping skills and techniques for decorating cakes with buttercream. You will go home with a small cake that you have personally decorated and a new skill set to hone!

Emilie is looking forward to exploring the theme of rest in the Holy Spirit in her painting studio. She was led to think on the Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Still lives are a classic subject in art that demands the artist to stop, slow down, and truly take in what ordinary things are set out before them. It can seem like a daunting task, trying to capture things as familiar as a grouping of fruits, but God has never called us to perfection in art. He also never asked us to quickly grasp and master all of the Fruits of the Spirit. Instead He has given us Himself, to lead us and gently give us every good spiritual gift we need in the moment. Emilie is excited about gently leading participants in painting a still life of beautiful fruit with watercolors, not seeking perfection, but slowing down and admiring the Spiritual gifts and bounty God gives us each day.

Flower arranging 2.0 for those who have experience in basic floral arranging. This class will be a dive into fresh, fun and unique designs with a hands-on organic approach. Participants will walk away with gorgeous, sophisticated arrangements and knowledge of how to put one together using containers around your home.

This studio will give an introduction to visual journaling - what it is, why you would want to make it a practice, how it helps you to draw closer to God, and an introduction on how to get started. Each participant will receive a “Doodle Kit” that includes: the booklet Drawing Near: How To Doodle Your Way To God, a journal, and other basic supplies to jump start a visual journal practice.

After the introduction, we will spend time dabbling in lettering and doodle practice to create our own personalized, beautiful items to use in our journals, with Margaret’s no fail tips and tricks!

I will teach you how to artfully arrange a few bunches of grocery store flowers and sprigs from your yard to create a lovely floral arrangement to use at your next dinner party, to give as a gift to a friend, or just because - because fresh flowers are always a good idea!
